Mike Rutherford - St George's Link

Michael Rutherford is a CT2 psychiatry trainee working in South West London. Alongside his clinical work, he is actively involved with teaching medical students at St. George's Medical School. In his spare time, he enjoys films (as you might expect), running, home-brewing and being used as a feline sleeping platform. 

 

Paul Emmerson: Cardiff Link

Paul is a clinical lecturer in psychiatry in Cardiff. He has a long held interest in film and is applying this to the teaching of psychiatry through film based teaching sessions. He is working with the Cardiff Psychsoc to make film an integral part of undergraduate psychiatry in Wales.


 

 

Karl Scheeres - Bristol Link

Karl qualified at Warwick university and is a CT3 psychiatry trainee in Bristol; his main interests are in medical education and liaison psychiatry. in his spare time he both eats and breathes fire, and was involved in organising a circus festival working in New Zealand. He dreams of living on a boat. 

 

 

 

Dan Bennett - Aberdeen Link

Daniel is a Clinical Lecturer and forensic psychiatrist in Aberdeen.  His work interests include the interface of psychiatry with the law, education, patient communication and the use of physical treatments for mental illness.  He is also a hockey umpire, an observer for the Institute of Advanced Motorists and a sports fan.

 

 

Larissa Ryan - Southampton Link

Lara is an ST5 in Old Age Psychiatry in the Wessex Deanery, currently working in Dorset.  At work her main interests are dementia, palliative care and medical education.  Out of work most of her spare time is spent looking after her spaniel, two cats and husband. 

 

 

Abbas Ramji - Birmingham Link

Abbas is an ST5 in General Adult psychiatry, currently working in the Liaison specialty, in Birmingham. He has a passion for medical education, and is involved in teaching and examining at Birmingham medical school. He is involved in charitable work for an international NGO and promotes knowledge about mental illness within ethinic minority communities.

  

Megan Fisher - King's, London Link

Megan qualified from UCL in 2009 and is currently a CT1 trainee in general adult psychiatry in South East London. She has an intercalated degree in Psychology. Outside of work she enjoys travel, film, theatre (both watching and performing) and flower arranging.  

 

 

Rhodri David - Bart's and The London Link

Rhodri is a ST6 in Adult Psychiatry in East London. He graduated from Barts and the London and has worked in several training schemes, including UCL and Bristol. He's currently a Fellow in Medical Education, having escaped training for the year. He enjoys cinema, politics, travel and anything gadget-related. He has an unhealthy love of 80s heavy metal.

 

 

 

Alan Spratt - Glasgow Link

After finishing med school Alan spent FY1 in Dumfries & Galloway enjoying the land of outdoor pursuits and one screen independent cinemas. Back to the city for FY2 and post A and E he will be dabbling in psychiatry – thankfully Glasgow sports the tallest cinema in Europe to help out those grim winter days!

 

 

Michelle Gilmore - Queen's, Belfast Link

Michelle is a ST6 in General Adult Psychiatry In Northern Ireland. She has an interest in medical education, and is actively involved in teaching and examining in Queen's University In Belfast. Michelle has introduced the Student Selected Component "Movies, Myths and Mental Illness" and has run film nights for students interested in psychiatry. 

 

 

 

    

Dane Rayment - Cambridge Link

Dane is a core trainee in Psychiatry in Cambridge. He is on the psychiatric trainees committee and is a representative on the Royal College of Psychiatrists Public Education Committee. He is organising the Cambridge event with Polyvious Christofi, a medical student and Vice President of the Cambridge Student Psychiatry Society

 

 

Roshelle Ramkisson - Manchester Link

Roshelle is a ST6 in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry and on the Medical Leadership Programme. Her special interest is working with people, particularly service user feedback, cultural awareness and public education.  

 

  

Mike Skelton - Nottingham Link

Mike is a CT3 in Psychiatry in Nottingham. He has a keen interest in film and the media, and the role it can play (for good or ill) in shaping public perceptions on important issues, such as mental illness. He represents trainees locally with colleagues on the Royal College of Psychiatrists Trainee's Committee. 

 

  

Umar Patel - Leeds Link

Umar is a CT2 working in Leeds and Wakefield, currently in a community general adult post. He was born and brought up in the North West of England, and trained in medicine and completed his foundation years in Manchester, a city he holds dear to his heart. He has found a second home in Leeds, spending the very little spare time he has with friend, family, the cat.... and revising for exams.
